It Takes a Village

By Stephanie Purcell

Pop goes the World! We’re ready for another exciting festival filled with new and innovative music from across North America courtesy of Halifax Pop Explosion.

This is a special year for me as it’s been an honour to be voted by my colleagues as the Chair of the Board for HPX. I take this position with pride being the first female Chair of the Board as we launch into our 23rd annual festival.

Like many festivals and events, the fans are the reason our entire HPX team spend countless hours producing this experience. We’re all music fans so we value the experience of a festival.

Contributions from sponsors and government partners make a significant impact on the festival which many would agree is a national Canadian cultural event.

If you’ve never heard of HPX! Google it. Experience it. Take it all in.

There’s an ambitious team working behind the scenes, ‘Team HPX’, who are committed to giving all our music fans a memorable experiences during the festival.

‘It takes a village’ – artists, sound technicians, venues, comedians, sponsors, speakers, partners, agents, managers, backline techs, volunteers, production crew, HPX family, shuttle drivers, hotel staff, team leads, friends – Rocking our world for 23 years strong!

One wrist band to rule them all!’
