Dr. Carolyn Savoy

Dr. Carolyn Savoy specializes in high performance coaching. As a true team builder, she links theory to practice and teaches individuals and groups to apply psychological techniques that can dramatically improve performance.

Carolyn has been an Associate Professor and Head Women’s Basketball Coach for Dalhousie University for over 28 years. She has her Ph. D. in Education (Sport Psychology) and has been the University Senator for Health Professions, and President of the Faculty Association for Dalhousie University. Carolyn has numerous publications and has received several awards, which include Progress Club Women of Excellence Award for Sports, Health and Fitness, Dalhousie University Coach of the year, and AUS Coach of the year. She has also been inducted into the Saint John Hall of Fame.

Carolyn's seminars provide leadership skills designed to show managers how to get their employees and colleagues to perform to their ability and up to the level of performance required to meet corporate objectives.  Participants learn to evaluate behavior, better handle stress, reframe thoughts, use imagery, celebrate teamwork and benefit from group synergy!

According to Carolyn, “I have found that there is no recipe for getting teams to perform, and not everyone can be an effective leader. Leadership involves both technical and psychological expertise.”

Dr. Savoy's new book, The Art of Coaching: A Practical Guide to Building Successful Teams, which hit bookstores in September 2005.

Carolyn shares her knowledge of teamwork in the sport of basketball and translates into tangible benefits for any organization. All teams need coaches, behavior development and recognition programs. Carolyn has the knowledge and expertise to turn your team into a winning one!
